If you are from the UK or from a British Overseas Territory or have “leave to remain” status in the UK there are usually no issues at all with Visas. Otherwise, the majority of schools we work with are able to issue their own “Tier 4 Visas” which they can provide after you have passed the necessary entrance tests, provided them with information they require and paid a deposit. Recent changes to eligibility laws in the UK mean that now professional clubs can sign overseas players at 18 years old. Many lower league teams will not have International scouts but still have a quota they can fill so there has never been a better time for players to be based in the UK and hopefully impress scouts!
So how can I become a professional footballer if I use UK Football Schools?
This is another part of our business that we take very seriously. UK Football Schools, (or indeed anyone), cannot promise that an individual player will become a professional footballer. However, what we can do is help get players into the very best prestige football schools and football programmes available in the UK. These schools will ensure that you are given every opportunity to develop and reach your full potential as a footballer.
All players who use our services will benefit from the contacts that we and the school coaches have throughout a variety of levels in the professional game, both in the UK and internationally. It is not unusual for our partner schools to regularly play against pro academy teams and go on tour to play overseas academy teams. Many of our schools/ partners have incredible track records of helping to get multiple players signed to clubs across the world – we would encourage you to speak to them about this after we introduce you to them.
All players who enrol at one of our UK Football schools will also be given a free football trial via our sister organisation, UK Football Trials, which will allow you to showcase your skills in front of scouts from all levels of the English game, from the Premier League to Semi Pro level. This offers valuable experience, a chance to get on the radar of UK clubs (sometimes a player may be invited in for training or a trial) and many players at our recommended schools can set themselves up to be signed when old enough.
